Enjoy this free event to celebrate local farm-to-home wool, featuring fibers, yarns, fleece, bedding, and clothing from local wool. The fiber and related products are all natural or naturally dyed with plants. See local artists spinning, weaving, and felting using wool that is healthy, sustainable, natural, and local.
The 2nd Annual Wool Festival in Valley Ford provides a great opportunity to all Slow food lovers to go beyond snout-to-tail eating and support local farms to use the whole animal, and become economically more viable.

• Needle Felting
• Lectures on the different classes of sheep breeds and wool types (Dorsets, Ramboulet, Shetland, Romney and Navajo Churro) Tour of the mill, and how the wool is processed
• Learn all about the different uses of wool
Why:
To bring community awareness to our local Sonoma County wool market. Embracing our local wool culture, teaching spinning, shearing, awareness for local wool product. Did you know that chemicals used in the manufacture of synthetic fabric and dyes are some of the worst toxins polluting the environment?
The Valley Ford Wool Mill is the only wool processing operation in Marin, Sonoma and Mendocino County and is part of the growing Northern California Fibershed.
